You consider yourself bird-curious - from a complete beginner to intermediately knowledgeable and you desire to know more.
You want to focus on finding bird species in shrub-steppe environments, mixed forest vegetation at higher elevations, and in riparian areas found throughout the Umptanum Road and Wenas Valley Area of Ellensburg.
You can flex between “car-birding” (with stops!) and walking; between spending time identifying birds and watching their behaviors, while also putting in the time and effort to find to search out species like White-headed Woodpecker, Mountain Chickadee, Yellow-breasted Chat, and other species that require patience and persistence (*though this trip is not necessarily for those who are looking to check off as many bird species as possible, we will put in some good time searching for the birds!).
Hope to learn something new, go somewhere new-to-you, and take in the whole experience with a tight knit group of people that share the same passion and spirit for the birds as you do!

Trip Price:
*Based on double occupancy bookings; single occupancy bookings add $89 lodging supplement.

*Limited Transportation - between lodging and all nature/birding sites. Participants MUST get themselves to and from the lodging site in Ellensburg, WA for this excursion.
Lodging - 1 night of hotel lodging, centrally located to planned outings and sites.
Meals - 1 dinner, breakfast foods provided both mornings, snacks to share. *There will be a lunch stop on both birding days that participant(s) will be responsible for.
Guided Birding - 2 full days (roughly 6-8 hours) of guided birding at select areas in Ellensburg and Wenas, Washington.
Optics - Scope: Gosky 20-60x80 Dual Focusing ED Spotting Scope Binoculars: Nikon PROSTAFF P3 8x42 (4 pair available for use).
eBird Checklists - compiled and shared with participants at the end of each *day/trip (*as time permits).
Trip Report - within two weeks of the end of the excursion, a detailed trip report with photos will be shared for participants to enjoy. Details will also be found on our blog!
Included in the price:
Transportation to and from Ellensburg, WA - participants MUST get themselves to and from Ellensburg, Washington; Sea to Sky Guiding will provide transportation between lodging and all nature/birding sites.
Lunch - participants are responsible for their own lunch on both birding days (lunch stop each afternoon).
